Project Background

Linda Marie Zaerr, a professor in the English dept. at Boise State, came to me with a challenge: she wanted to make a music video of herself walking along a path (like a minstrel) and playing the vielle, a medieval stringed instrument. The first step was recording clear audio of the music. We ended up going into an auditorium and I recorded the music while standing on a chair, holding the mic over Linda’s head with a pole. We then went to Albertsons Park in Boise and, using a gimbal and smartphone, I filmed her from several angles walking down the path. Then while editing in Premiere, I had to adjust the speed of the video to match the music. What you see here is the final result.
