A Little Bit About Myself

My name is Brian Martin, and I’m thrilled to be working as an instructional designer! It mixes together the two things in life that I am most passionate about: learning and multimedia. Every project that I work on is an opportunity to try something new and to find creative ways to engage with our learners.

Like most instructional designers, I didn’t know that this was my calling until later in life. I started out working in the printing industry, having received a Bachelors in Graphic Communications from Clemson University. That experience exposed me to the world of graphics and multimedia, and I loved the creation aspect of it. But what I really wanted was to make a difference in people’s lives…to help educate them. So I moved out to California and pursued a Masters in Instructional Design and Technology from Chico State.

Since then, I’ve had many exciting opportunities to change people’s lives. From creating eLearning modules to videos to live workshops to college courses, I’ve had the privilege to design unique learning experiences for a diverse population of learners.

I currently live in Boise, ID, where I serve as an Instructional Designer at Boise State University. When I’m not designing instruction, I like to go traveling and camping with my wife and two sons (ages 8 and 10). I also like to run and work on creative video projects (and sometimes combine the two together in strange ways).
